Yamaha YZF R 15 is the first model in the India which is inspired by supersport image. Its design evokes the image of the Yamaha's YZF-R series. This revolutionary bike is based on totally race technology.
Yamaha's YZF R15 makes use of DiASil (Die-casting Aluminum-Silicon) cylinder. The DiASil Cylinder is an all-aluminum cylinder made possible by an exclusive Yamaha aluminum forging technology.Use of 20% sillicon-aluminiun alloy helps to create a cylinder wall that is hard and durable so that it eliminates the need for a conventional steel cylinder sleeve.
Due to aluminium cylinder, heat dissipation increases which results in improved cooling capacity and minimizes engine weight. Yamaha YZF-R15 makes use of forged piston (First time in India) which results in excellent power developement. YZF R15's 150cc Fuel Injected liquid cooled engine produces almost 20bhp. Its 4-valve combustion chamber(India's first) adopts centrally mounted spark plug and six hole type injector which leads to path breaking performance. Compact radiator cools enginewhich maximizes performance. It has 6 speed gear box. It is India’s first Bike with the Deltabox frame. It has R1 style instrument console which consist of digital fuel guage and digital tachometer.
Yamaha's YZF R15’s overall length is 1070mm, overall width is 670mm and its wheels base is 1290mm. Its 150cc features F 80/90 -17 inches tyres in the front and 100/80-17 inches tyres in the rear; both are tubeless.
Today Yamaha YZR 15 is India's most powerful bike under 200cc.
